Under 23s match report: Man Utd 6 Blackburn 4 – Manchester United

United were missing several key players through injury and loans which included erstwhile ever-present skipper Will Fish. This promised to be a good contest and it didn’t take long to live up to its billing.

Just 13 minutes into the game, Rovers took the lead when an uncharacteristic mistake by Dylan Levitt allowed striker Connor McBride to fire past Ondrej Mastny.

Goals, at both ends, have been in plentiful supply in recent games and we looked to heading down the same road again when, seven minutes later, United’s French starlet Hannibal put his side on terms with a fabulous finish. The midfielder capped a fine move by twisting and turning and unleashing a fierce shot past Jordan Eastham.
The goals continued to flow and, in the 32nd minute, Rovers regained the lead when their captain Samuel Barnes headed home from Luke Brennan’s corner.

The visitors were looking dangerous in attack but it was United who claimed the first half’s final goal which had its roots in Hannibal’s splendid raking pass which landed perfectly for Amad, who set-up Shoretire to whip home.
