Spurs are back in action this afternoon as they contest a pre-season friendly against League One opponents at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Jose Mourinho‘s men are preparing for a hectic season that could involve them playing as many as nine games in the first 22 days due to Europa League, Carabao Cup and Premier League commitments.
New signings Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Hart are both involved today as Paul Lambert‘s Ipswich visit north London, having seen their 2019-20 campaign ended all the way back in March.
With kick-off scheduled for 3pm BST, follow all the action LIVE with Standard Sport!
65 mins: Chance! Gedson attempts to switch across goal to the incoming Sessegnon but it’s defended well. Better ball and that’s 4-0.
63 mins: Spurs make another change, as Hojbjerg comes off for Harvey White. An excellent first outing – he looked really good.
62 mins: It’s not been quite as free-flowing as the first-half, with chances perhaps slightly limited.
Spurs look smart in possession, however, and Fernandes is also showing some lovely spells of trickery.
Spurs do then get a chance, however, as Moura finds Sessegnon in the box. He shoots right-footed but it’s down the middle and saved.
58 mins: Tottenham are awarded a free-kick on the right after Gedson is taken out following a lovely stepover. As has been the case on numerous occasions, it was Hojbjerg who intercepted the ball to start the move.
55 mins: Close! Surrounded by three men, Moura receives the ball from Clarke, before dashing into the area and firing into the side-netting.
54 mins: Joe Hart gets his first touch in a Spurs shirt, playing it out to Alderweireld, who immediately launched a searching ball for Gedson.
His control is good, before Clarke slips and gives away possession.
50 mins: Moura does well to find Cirkin down the left, whose cross is blocked and cleared. Ipswich come away with the ball but are forced to retreat.
49 mins: Really positive play by Clarke! He takes his man on, burst down the right flank and sends a thumping low cross in. The ‘keeper does well to clear with his feet.
47 mins: First action of the second half comes for the visitors, with Freddie Sears playing a tempting ball across the Spurs box. It went all the way through and came to nothing.
We’re underway once more!
In comes Hart, Clarke, Carter-Vickers and Cirkin. Off come Lloris, Son, Foyth and Davies.
So, the players are back out and we’re nearly underway. Mourinho hasn’t opted for quite as many changes as we may have thought.
Really good first-half, that. Lots to like there, particularly the performances of Hojbjerg and Son.
I expect Mourinho will make a host of changes for the second half, with Joe Hart expected to come in.
45 mins: Another chance for Alli, who sees another shot from outside the area blocked. That’ll be it for the first-half.
43 mins: Close! And what a story that would have been. Hojbjerg does well to win the header, but the ‘keeper saves well.
42 mins: Son should have had his third of the half, but skews his shot over after a cross from the right. The danger is not over yet, however, as Ipswich put a Gedson cross out for a corner.
37 mins: Lloris gets a rare touch on the ball following an Ipswich cross from the right. He quickly sends Tottenham on their way as Alderweireld sends another delightful pass over to Gedson on the right. He gives it back to Winks, whose cross is picked up by the ‘keeper.
36 mins: That was nearly a moment of brilliance by Alli, who attempted to feed Gedson with an incisive through ball. Gedson had just checked his run, however, and it dribbled out for a goal kick. Good play, though.
