Swoop adds to YLW routes
Swoop Airlines has announced it is expanding service in and out of Kelowna International Airport this summer.
Beginning June 20, the airline will begin offering flights to both Winnipeg and Hamilton.
Most of the flights are non-stop.
Flights to and from Hamilton will be offered daily except Saturday, while Winnipeg flights would depart three days a week on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday.
In addition, Swoop says it is expanding non-stop service to Toronto, with flights departing daily beginning in the summer.
“Our summer schedule expansion is in response to strong advance sales and in anticipation of demand from Canada’s most price-conscious travellers as they look towards the accelerated pace of vaccine rollouts across the country,” said Charles Duncan, president of Swoop.
“We are thrilled to be offering Canadians even more opportunities to connect with British Columbia’s vibrant West Coast and Okanagan region this summer.”
Duncan says the airline is continuing to plan for the safe reopening of air travel within the country.
YLW manager Sam Samaddar welcomes the addition of both Hamilton and Winnipeg to the list of destinations offered to Okanagan travellers, saying it will give more Canadians direct access to the valley.
