Rangers 0 Coventry 0 LIVE score as Steven Gerrards side push for an opener – Scottish Daily Record

Rangers face Coventry at Ibrox as they look to finish their warm-up games with a bang.

Wins in France against Lyon and Nice allowed Steven Gerrard to lift the Veolia Trophy while his side dismantled Scotland’s third force Motherwell at Ibrox on Tuesday night.

Fans who hoped to get a first glimpse of Leon Balogun will have to wait a bit longer as he’s not named in the Rangers squad.

Gerrard has, however, named about as strong a side as possible in the current circumstances with Allan McGregor returning to the side as Ianis Hagi, Alfredo Morelos and Joe Aribo all retain their places.

Coventry will be a tough nut to crack – they lifted the League One title last season after their season was called to a halt by coronavirus.

Their captain is 30-year-old former Kilmarnock star Liam Kelly who will look forward to returning north as the squad look to get ready for life in the Championship.

Rangers XI: McGregor, Tavernier, Edmundson, Goldson, Barisic, Jack, Kamara, Aribo, Kent, Hagi, Morelos.

Coventry XI: Marosi, Burroughs, Giles, Pask, Drysdale, Hyam, Kelly, Hamer, Godden, Shipley, O’Hare.
