Northern Powergrid has resolved a power cut issue that affected more than 17,000 properties in Sunderland.
Customers in the SR2, SR3 and DH4 areas were affected by an unexpected power cut, which was first reported just before 11am this morning.
In a statement online, a spokesperson for Northern Powergrid said: “Hi all customers in SR2, SR3 & DH3. Good news, your power should now be back on.
“Why not try a light switch to check? Thanks for your patience during the power cut, if you have any other #power related questions ask away, we are happy to help.”
The electricity provider said it could usually take 90 minutes to restore power for up to 90% of customers.
