New Manchester United youngster impresses in training sessions after transfer – Manchester Evening News

Manchester United are still working on more academy signings before the new season starts.

United are preparing to formally announce the additions of Isak Hansen-Aaroen, Marc Jurado, and Alvaro Hernandez and the MEN understands there could be ‘a couple more’ arrivals.

Although United are still awaiting international clearance for Hansen-Aaroen, 16, the Norwegian has started training with the Under-18s and believed to have impressed in his first sessions. Fellow academy signings Joe Hugill, Logan Pye, and Radek Vitek started training with United in July.

United fought off competition from Arsenal and Tottenham to agree a £300,000 deal with Sunderland for striker Hugill, 16, and defender Pye, also 16, was previously at Sunderland as well. Czech goalkeeper Vitek, 16, transferred from Sigma Olomouc.

Jurado, 16, and Fernandez, 17, touched down in Manchester from Spain last week and are quarantining with a family for the mandatory 14-day period. United hope to confirm their signings before the end of the week.

Players require clearance from both relevant football associations before a transfer is ratified and United have received complete clearance for Fernandez but still awaiting it from the Football Association for Jurado, who has had the sign-off from the Royal Spanish Football Federation.

Jurado and Fernandez have already started intensive English lessons and been introduced to their new coaches via Zoom calls. United’s incumbent academy Spaniards, Arnau Puigmal and Mateo Mejia, have been FaceTiming Jurado and Fernandez to help them settle.

United have also provided Jurado and Fernandes with documentaries on the club and Manchester to help them integrate.
