The National Lottery app has crashed ahead of a huge £175 EuroMillions jackpot draw.
Shortly after 8.20pm tonight the numbers will fall for a record breaking lottery draw.
Excitement ahead of the bumper money giveaway has seemingly led the National Lottery app to be overloaded.
Many people hoping to log on and buy a ticket were left frustrated this evening.
“Is it me or is anyone else having an enormous amount of difficulty playing with the National Lottery site and app,” one woman wrote.
One man on Twitter, who goes by the name Mark E, directed a complaint at the gambling insitution.
“Sort out your website as unable to login due to it being busy,” he demanded.
The official National Lottery account fired back: “It is the biggest ever EuroMillions Jackpot ever Mark, it is kind of busy at the moment.
“Please keep trying. ^Jack.”
Another man posted a screen shot of the error screen he encountered on the National Lottery website.
It read: “This site is up and running but it is a bit busy.”
The man complained: “Log in fails on the app and the website is down too.
“How am meant to do my numbers now? Letters on a postcard.”
The busy operators of the National Lottery account urged people not to give up if the website and app were being a little slow.
“Please keep trying Ray, the website and app aren’t down,” they wrote.
“They might just be running a little slow with the number of people trying to get on at the last few moments.”
A Camelot spokesperson said: “We’ve been experiencing high volumes of traffic into the National Lottery website this evening and because of this a small number of players may have experienced a delay in buying tickets for tonight’s EuroMillions draw.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.”
