Minnesota Wilds Zach Parise scratched for Vegas Golden Knights rematch – The Athletic

LAS VEGAS — There was quite a bold lineup development Wednesday at the
Minnesota Wild’s morning skate at T-Mobile Arena.

As a repercussion for his overextended shift when the Vegas Golden Knights tied Monday night’s game with an extra attacker, Zach Parise will not play in Wednesday night’s rematch. Other than resting before the playoffs, Parise will be a healthy scratch for the first time in his Wild career and only the second time in his 16-year NHL career.

As Parise skated with the taxi squad following the rest of his teammates leaving the ice, coach Dean Evason wouldn’t go into details as to why Parise was being sat only to say the decision was made as a staff. But a disappointed Parise confirmed that he was told during a meeting Tuesday that it’s because of his final shift and that he didn’t agree with the organization’s decision.
