Latest number of confirmed coronavirus cases on Leicester lockdown review day – Leicestershire Live

Another 27 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Leicester and Leicestershire today.

The majority of newly identified cases were in the city – 22 cases were added to the cumulative total.

A further 5 cases were confirmed across the county with only one of those in Oadby and Wigston whiich is presently in the lockdown zone.

A data lag, which officials say is around four days, could explain why figures have fluctuated throughout the week. All figures are cumulative and include all of the cases in each area confirmed since the start of the pandemic.

Cases and infection rates according to the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) on Thursday July,30 at 6.30pm:

Leicester – 4905 total cases. Rate per 100,000 population: 1,380

Blaby – 514 total cases. Rate per 100,000 population: 511

Charnwood – 823 total cases. Rate per 100,000 population: 450

Harborough – 393 total cases. Rate per 100,000 population: 424

Hinckley and Bosworth – 551 total cases. Rate per 100,000 population: 490

Melton – 178 total cases. Rate per 100,000 population: 348

North West Leicestershire – 331 total cases. Rate per 100,000 population: 324

Oadby and Wigston – 485 total cases. Rate per 100,000 population: 850
