Interior Health has issued corrected numbers on the number of COVID-19 cases in the Revelstoke area.
“The cumulative total from the previous Information bulletin only captured cases to the end of November. A new official cumulative total will be posted on the BCCDC website in the days ahead, but Interior Health can confirm it is currently above 85 cases in the Revelstoke region since the start of the pandemic,” IH stated in an email update to its earlier press statement this morning.

Interior Health says it is seeing increased COVID-19 cases in the Revelstoke area.
On Tuesday, the health authority said BC Centre for Disease Control stats reveal the number of COVID-19 cases in the area has now risen to 49.
Last week, 22 new cases were confirmed, and the week prior, seven new cases were confirmed.
IH reminds all residents to maintain efforts to prevent community transmission.
On a per capita basis, the weekly and cumulative totals for Revelstoke are higher than many areas of the province, IH said.
“There is no specific source for the new cases. It is for this reason all residents and businesses are reminded of the importance of COVID-19 testing at the first sign of symptoms in addition to keeping social bubbles small,” said a statement from the health authority.
