Everton eye Kamara move
Everton have been linked with a move for Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.
The Finnish international was signed by the Glasgow giants for just £50,000 from Dundee in January 2019, and has gone on to make 87 appearances for the club.
Despite being a bargain buy for Steven Gerrard’s side, the 25-year-old, who started his career with Arsenal, is now being linked with a potential big money move south of the border.
HITC site Team Talk as claiming that Everton, Southampton, Newcastle, Sheffield United and Crystal Palace have all been “keeping close tabs” on Kamara with Benfica also interested.
Former Rangers goalkeeper and fellow Finn Antti Niemi reckons Kamara has what it takes to be a hit in the Premier League.
The article quotes him as telling Record Sport:
“It is quite obvious any time I am watching the matches that he is one of the most important players for Rangers.
“From what I have seen of Rangers they are playing really well and have a group of extremely talented players who are coached really well, but Glen just adds something different to the team.
“When he gets the ball everyone else can relax a little bit and they know that he can keep hold of the ball and keep possession for his side – that is such an important thing for any team.
“I certainly feel as though he is a bit different and offers a great option to that Rangers team.
“It is very obvious that he understands football, when he receives the ball he is already steps ahead and knows exactly what he wants to do with the ball.
“When you watch how he plays football, it looks so simple, but he executes everything so brilliantly and he really is a joy to watch.
“I have no doubt that he could go down and play for the biggest clubs in the English Premier League, Bundesliga or Serie A. He has the ability to play for any good team.
“If you put Glen Kamara in a top six Premier League team would he look out of place? My answer is simply no, he would look very good.”
