Essex Covid: Wickford school forced to close for deep clean after coronavirus cases – Essex Live

A school in Essex has been forced to close following a positive coronavirus test result.

Students and Staff at The Bromfords School and Sixth Form in Wickford have been told to self-isolate while the school is closed to avoid spreading the virus.

The school has confirmed that it has closed while it is deep cleaned, and students will undertake online learning during the closure.

The Bromfords School Headteacher, Neil Dunn said: “Following a number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 and consultation with Public Health England and Essex Test and Trace service, the decision was taken to initiate the school’s planned remote learning timetable for Wednesday 25th November to Friday 27th November.

“This response allows for a complete deep clean of the school site whilst maintaining a full timetable of structured lessons for students in all year groups.”

The news comes after another school in Wickford, Grange Primary School, told two year groups to isolate following a Covid case last week.
