Some 25 staff and residents at Craigie House in Crossgates have tested positive for Covid-19.
All visits to the home are currently suspended as public heath experts tackle the outbreak.
The NHS Fife Health Protection Team and the Fife Health and Social Care Partnership have been drafted in.
The specialists are working with Fife Council’s Environmental Health department to help care home managers halt the spread of the virus.
An NHS Fife statement read: “It is extremely important that those intending to visit residents in any care home refrain from doing so if they feel unwell or have any of the known symptoms of COVID-19, such as a high temperature; a new, continuous cough; or a loss or change to the sense of smell or taste.”
Anyone experiencing the well-established symptoms of COVID-19 should immediately self-isolate and arrange a test using the NHS inform website or by calling 0800 028 2816.
A local online support hub has been created to provide information on testing for Covid-19 and updates on the pandemic.
