The Championship season is now just two weeks away and clubs up and down the second tier are battling to sign new players ahead of the big kick-off.
Though, just as much effort is being put into keeping players around with Premier League clubs keen to lure talent up to the top tier.
A number of Championship clubs face losing their star players this summer, including Nottingham Forest, where we start today’s transfer rumour round-up.
Take a look below.
Villa to strike Cash deal
Aston Villa are set to prise away Nottingham Forest star Matty Cash.
According to Football Insider, the Premier League outfit will wrap up the deal for 23-year-old wide man next week.
Cash scored three and assisted five last season, able to play both as a winger and a full-back.
A deal is yet to be agreed according to the report, Villa seeing a £10m deal turned down this weekend.
But Dean Smith is expected to get his man with Villa expected to return with another offer.
QPR have reopened talks with winger Bright Osayi-Samuel over a new contract.
The talented winger has just one year remaining on his current deal and he has been linked with a move to West Brom, among others, for around £5m.
But QPR are desperate to keep their star winger having lost Eberechi Eze to Crystal Palace.
Rangers have now reopened talks over a new contract, according to a report by West London Sport, but things are progressing slowly.
That will provide plenty of hope to those interested in the wide man this summer.
Arsenal eye Brentford stopper
Arsenal have cast their sights on Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.
The Gunners are braced to lose number two Emiliano Martinez this summer despite the Argentine impressing in the back-end of last season.
Aston Villa are said to be among the clubs interested in Martinez, with Arsenal willing to let him go for around £10m, unable to offer the goalkeeper regular minutes.
Reports from The Sun claim the Gunners will now turn to Raya, who enjoyed an excellent season with the Bees last term.
