Arsenal transfer round-up: Gunners plot Garcia swoop as Odegaard completes move – Mirror Online

Mikel Arteta’s revolution continues at Arsenal as another face arrives while others are edging closer to the door.

Having offloading his biggest headache at the club to date, Mesut Ozil, defender Sokratis has also moved on, while Sead Kolasinac has been shipped out on loan.

The club are expected to cut ties with the likes of Lucas Torreira in the near future, and Arteta still has his eye on some more new additions to his squad.

After weeks of speculation, Martin Odegaard has arrived on loan from Real Madrid till the end of the season, following Mat Ryan through the door.

And Gunners technical director Edu may well be kept busy over the remaining days of the January window.

Arsenal are reportedly looking to muscle in on a move for Man City defender Eric Garcia.

The 20-year-old centre-back is out of contract at the end of the season, and could be allowed to leave for a cut-price fee this month.

Barcelona are hopeful of tying up a deal for the Spaniard, but are unable to make their approach until the summer due to their perilous financial situation.

According to Mundo Deportivo (via FourFourTwo ), Mikel Arteta is a big fan of Garcia, having worked with him at City previously.

He is now plotting a swoop to land Garcia’s signature, though PSG are also interested.

PSG are keen on signing Matteo Guendouzi in a tempting swap deal, reports French publication L’Equipe.

Guendouzi is currently out on loan at Hertha Berlin and appears to have no future under Arteta at Arsenal.

That could persuade Arsenal to cut their losses with the youngster and move him on this month, with PSG reportedly willing to offer winger Julian Draxler in exchange.

Draxler has been linked with a move to Arsenal previously and his contract is due to expire in the summer.
